Smart Networking: Event Marketing Pointers

Liz Lynch?s Smart Networking Blog recently featured a great three-part series on the value of networking at face-to-face events. The series is a great resource for event marketers to use when writing persuasive copy to build attendance. ?Know thy audience? is still key to building the case for event participation.  Photo Badging: Picture THIS!

You're walking the floor at your event and you notice a large, burly man wearing a nametag that says his name is Betty Miller. That can mean one of two things: Either his parents had a very odd sense of humor when they named him or he is using someone else's badge to get into your event. So, how can you reduce badge swapping and counterfeiting? Photo-badges are the answer AND a bonus way to increase attendee networking at your face-to-face event. Click on the following link to get information on how Photo Badging can help your event: http://www.experient-inc.com/dm/photo-badge/.

Marketing Events to Canadian Prospects?

A tough new anti-spam bill is about to pass in Canada. Legislation that will change e-commerce for everyone marketing to Canadians is set to become law later this year. The Electronic Commerce Protection Act, known as bill C-27, applies to any commercial message routed through a Canadian computer, and that includes event marketing. Read this Target Marketing article on how now this new law will affect US-based event marketers and how it differs from US CAN-SPAM rules.
