I arrived in the meeting and convention industry in 1996 when my father, who was president at the time, brought me in to work for International Travel Service, which simplified it’s name to ITS. My role was to learn how the company operated from top to bottom in the areas of registration, housing and travel. In the last 12 years I have taken on positions in customer service, operations management, account management and sales. ITS was one of the 3 companies that eventually formed Experient, so the basic industry knowledge that I accumulated serves me well today.
My industry affiliations are with Professional Convention Management Association, Meeting (PCMA) and Society of Association Executives (ASAE) where I am involved at the local chapter levels and attend the annual meetings. I also participate in local activities with other industry associations such as the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE), the Center for Exhibition Industry Research CEIR and Meeting Professionals International (MPI).
I was born and raised outside of Chicago and have a bachelor of arts degree in speech communication from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. I currently live in Mundelein, IL with my wife Sherri and three children: Nicole (15), Eric (12) and Kevin (10).
